This project is a painting from the suburbs, the edge of a city that is forever expanding and developing. The expansion of the city continues forever under the economic development, and the suburbs spread further to its fringes. Every morning, the citizens go to work by car, bus, or train, looking at this urban landscape. From the window of a congested car or a crowded train, one can see this capitalist city, a huge, self-sustaining mechanism that never rests.
FringeCity's UrbanLandscape is generated by p5.js, which randomly selects the number of buildings, their sizes, colors, backgrounds, and line thicknesses. The images and metadata are recorded to decentralized storage called IPFS.
